Holiday Drink Recipes
Bring some excitement to your holiday drinks this season!
We have put together two holiday drink recipes that will be sure to shake up your normal beverage routine. With an option for all ages, they’re both a must-try.
The pa-RUM-pum-pum-pum
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ oz Spiced Rum
- ½ oz Sweet Amaro
- 1 oz Lime Juice
- 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
- 1 oz Cinnamon Ginger Simple Syrup*
- 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
*To create your simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar + water, a couple sticks of cinnamon, and a piece of of ginger the size size of your thumb (grated). Simmer this mixture for 5 min. Strain and Let cool.
Instructions:
1.Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
2. Fill the shaker with crushed ice, shake, and pour into a glass (or fun tiki cup if you have it!).
Classic Eggnog
Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 + ½ teaspoons nutmeg, freshly grated
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 eggs, room temperature
- 4 egg yolks, room temperature
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions:
1. Place heavy cream and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl with a fine mesh strainer on top. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine milk and vanilla. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbles form around the sides and the milk starts steaming.
3. In another mixing bowl, vigorously beat together the eggs, yolks, sugar, and salt for approximately 3-5 minutes until the mixture is thickened and pale. Add in the milk in a slow stream and whisk to incorporate. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon for about 6 minutes, or until the mixture reaches 165 F as read on a cooking thermometer. Immediately strain into the mixing bowl with the heavy cream.
4. Place in the refrigerator uncovered and allow the eggnog to cool completely for at least 2 hours.
5. Serve with whipped cream, marshmallows, and a sprinkle of hot chocolate mix!
