This Privacy Policy explains how The Landmark Project, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses the personal information of those who interact with us online (“you,” “your”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Use, which are available here.

What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to thelandmarkproject.com and all related websites and subdomains related to our products and services (our “Website”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to the information practices of any third party whose website may be accessible through our Website or to any third-party websites on which we advertise.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide To Us.  We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you subscribe to our newsletter or make an online purchase.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. When you place an online order through our Website, the information you provide will be stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. Shopify stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, Shopify will encrypt and store your credit card data in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). PCI-DSS is managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You can learn more about PCI-DSS at pcisecuritystandards.org

For more information about how Shopify handles your information, please see Shopify’s privacy policy, which is available here.

Information We Collect Automatically. Like most companies, we automatically collect certain information from all visitors to our Website. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include your IP address or other unique device identifier; your web browser and operating system; the date and time of your visit; the pages from which you navigate to and from our Website or the search terms that lead you to our Website; and the pages on our Website you visit and how long you stay on each page.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to collect information about use of our website. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected using Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

More information about Google Analytics is available here. You can opt-out of Google Analytics by downloading an add-on to your browser here

Cookies.  Like virtually all websites, we use “cookies” and similar technologies (such as web beacons and pixels). A cookie is a small data file that is placed on your computer when you visit a website, enabling the website provider to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to improve your access to our Website. Cookies also help us identify the interests of visitors to our Website so we can provide more customized content. Cookies can also be used to collect general usage and aggregated statistical information.

Most browsers can be set to detect cookies and give you an opportunity to reject them. You should be aware that refusing cookies may inhibit or preclude your use of our Website. You can learn more about cookies here

Children’s Information

Our Website is not directed to children under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 16, either directly or via any other website or online service. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 16 has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

“Do Not Track”

“Do Not Track” (DNT) is a setting available in most web browsers settings that asks a web application to disable its tracking of an individual user. There is currently no consensus on how companies should respond to DNT signals. At this time, we do not respond to DNT signals. You can learn more about DNT here.
